Day 7
It’s day 7 of my new Intermittent Fasting lifestyle, I’ve fasted 113 hours, and I feel great. My head is clear, my gut is happy, my sleep has been really good and I’ve only had one headache in all that time (which is, trust me, noteworthy.) I can’t speak to the pureness of my heart, but I know I feel really good. I had been so sluggish and gross and had gained so much weight: about 60 pounds since the start of the year (gulp… took some guts to type that). I’ve already lost a few pounds, but The way I FEEL physically and emotionally is even more important.
I’ve been following the 16:8 plan, which is 16 hours of fasting followed by an 8 hour window to eat. I chose to fast from 7:00 pm to 11:00 am, and then I eat sensibly up till 7:00. I have yet to feel hungry. And I’m just bursting with energy. I feel clean, clear. It’s just so doable.
I’ve been using the Fastic App to keep on track. I recommend trying this to anyone who wants to shed a few pounds, gain energy, boost immunity, regulate insulin and just in general improve health. There are spiritual benefits, too. Think about how many traditions use fasting as a tool!
