Aching for Autumn

About this time of year, when days are 90’s and steamy, I start aching for cool, crisp autumn air, and sweaters, and color in the trees and pumpkins and hot chocolate. Autumn is by far my favorite season and in Wisconsin is is both gorgeous and all too brief. This year for sure I want to go to an apple orchard and walk a corn maze and drink fresh pressed cider. On Facebook I am actually in a couple of groups for the autumn crazed. One is called “Leaf Rakers Society” and one is “Fall Blessed and Halloween Obsessed.” Those crazy folks celebrate Fall all year round! Ah, crisp days… cool breezes coming in the window over my bed… hikes in the state park… Halloween and Thanksgving. I’m so ready! Bring it on! I wrote an Autumn poem, find it on the poetry page.
