Natural Bridge State Park
“In some mysterious way woods have never seemed to me to be static things. In physical terms, I move through them; yet in metaphysical ones, they seem to move through me.”

Yesterday Nathan and I went to Natural Bridge State Park outside Baraboo. It is a lovely park with a nice walk up to the natural bridge, in the video above. It was very hot, around 90 out (Fahrenheit). It was so GREEN and lush out, and the woods had that lovely woodsy smell, the birds were singing, it was really a perfect day. We started out at Hy-Vee for some iced tea at the Starbucks, and some fruit and sandwiches. After our walk, we had a lovely drive home and stopped at the Dairy Queen for Peanut Buster Parfaits. (For those of you who do not live in the US a Peanut Buster Parfait is layers of vanilla soft-serve ice cream with hot fudge and peanuts. Yummo.) Nathan is the best companion, and I can’t wait for our trip out West in a few months. Not so long away now! We need to keep having these “practice runs” so we’ll be ready for some hiking in August and September! Whoo, I have a ways to go, need to really work on my stamina! Woods are my ultimate Hygge.
