September Goals

A new month, a fresh start! The first of Autumn, my favorite season, is Tuesday, September 22! Can’t wait! In fact I won’t. I personally declare my Autumn starts now. Ha!

I want to concentrate this month on my crafting; Christmas is just around the corner and I have decided to make all my gifts this year, which means I need to get down to some serious knitting and crafting. So. I need to get extremely intentional with my time. My beloved Jane’s Agenda planner will be a great help, to keep me on track.

I’m taking several classes this Fall through Madison College Continuing Education that I’m really excited about. One is on Essential Instant Pot, another is Instant Pot Soups, where I hope to learn more tricks and recipes for my new favorite appliance. The third one is a seminar on “Making the Most of What You Have” which is about stocking your shelves efficiently and using what you already have in your pantry. Nathan and I need to work on saving money and getting out of debt, so I’m looking forward to money stretching and saving tips. If I learn good tips I’ll be sure to pass them on to you!

Another goal this month is to get my body moving. Even a short walk most days would be great. I have a recumbent exercycle that I need to dust off LOL. In my planner, I created a sticker system, and I give myself a sticker for completing at least three of my four personal daily goals: writing, knitting or other crafting, meditating, and moving my body, whether through intentional exercise or dancing around to Coldplay, or just a walk to the grocery store. Lately I’ve been doing great on the writing, knitting and meditation, but I have been neglecting exercise. Like I wrote yesterday, I want to start loving on my body. Today is a good day to start. I give myself 3 other stickers: one for completing all my daily cleaning tasks, one if I don’t spend money, and one if I am happy with the way I ate. Pretty funny: my last post talks about aging and accepting my body, and here I am admitting to all of you that I am motivated by stickers! Ha. My preschool inclinations. My therapist thinks it’s great. “Whatever works for you!” he says.

Well, it’s 3:30 in the morning. I woke up from vivid dreams and have a migraine, which I hope I can medicate and shower away. I was just in for an infusion on Sunday, and I only get 3 a month, so I hope this headache decides to back off on it’s own. It’s good to know they’re there if I need them. Shout out to Unitypoint-Meriter Infusion Center! Every time I have needed them, they get me in same day. They are so skilled and compassionate.
