Marking Time

Just a few more days left until our trip and I realized that I hadn’t written anything, here or on sagabox, for quite a while! I have been consumed with getting ready. I’m going to take my laptop with me, so I’ll be able to share and post from the road.

Well, I’m working on the house and packing lists, etc. and this song came up on my favorite station. It’s one of my favorite songs.

It’s so moving and poignant, and the passage of time seems to be taking up real estate in my head right now. This song, naturally, reminded me of another time passing song that I love:

I’m 53 years old, and I must say I’m pretty happy about that. I’m happy to have time to work on my writing: what a gift. I’m past menopause, and it was an easy peasy no stress transition for me. I know how to take care of myself, emotionally and physically. After the trip, I’m going to buckle down on getting as healthy as I can be. (I decided to wait till after the trip. Who wants to count calories on a trip?) I had some stages of my life that were not as comfortable with myself and my lot in life. I feel so grateful to be content. Time, I think, to let old ghosts lie.

Just a few days. as I said, and much to do. The only thing about our trip that has me at all apprehensive is leaving our cats, though we have found a very competent woman to care for them.

The lodge where we are staying in Olympic has a four-hour Rainforest Tour that Nathan and I are really excited about. We’d be so happy if Sam and Erica could go with us: we’ll see.

Ok, I must get myself up and ACTIVATE. I just wanted to share this fantastic Hygge poem I found.
