IF
So those of you who know us know that Nathan and I are not… petite people. We’ve decided to do something about it! We’ve tried and had some success with Weight Watchers in the past, but it was unsustainable and we gained back all the weight we lost. I lost a bunch using Noom, but it was just unsustainable, much like WW, and the 1200 calories a day diet just did not work for me. I became obsessive and would binge.
SO! I decided to try something new, Intermittant Fasting or IF, and, bless him, Nathan has decided to go it with me. We are using a very cool app called Fastic. Nathan and I are not doing anything overly radical: we’re doing 16:8, or, a period of 16 hours fasting followed by a window of 8 hours for (sensible) eating each day. We agreed to start the fast at 7:00 pm and fast around to 11:00 am the next day. Tomorrow will be my 3rd day, Nathan’s 2nd day. I have high hopes! What I like about this plan is that you’re not measuring or counting anything. They have good all purpose nutritional advice, but they trust you to be sensible. After WW and Noom, I know very well what it is to be sensible. And I think that Nathan will like it too.
Today we went out to the Farm in New Glarus to celebrate Gary’s 80th birthday. It was so good to see everyone (at a safe social distance). That place out there, it’s just absolutely gorgeous. Jodi and Brian and their boys are raising cattle and flowers.
