People, People, People! I am sooooo excited.

Nathan and I got our stimulus check (thank you, Joe), and we decided to invest in education. I have been looking for a college-level writing course, but finding no joy.

The course done by UW Continuing Education looked great, but due to Coronavirus, they are closing down the writing program! I found a course at Madison College, but it was not at the level I was interested in. So I googled “Virtual Creative Writing Courses” and a fantastic one came upon a site called Coursera. I checked it out and got very excited. I showed it to Nathan; the single course cost less than the other courses I had been looking at. Furthermore I discovered that Coursera has LOTS of writing courses, and computer analytics courses, and a whole bunch of other subjects I am interested in; philosophy and history and blogging courses grabbed my interest. I saw that you can sign up for Coursera+ and get a full year of courses, as many as you want, courses and specializations and certificates. Nathan took a look and discovered that they also offer a ton of Public Health and Emergency preparedness courses, and management courses and stuff that interested him and would help him at work, and look good the next time his performance review came around.

SO! We decided that each of us would sign up for a year, then start racking up certificates. I’m going to get my Creative Writing certificate; it’s a series of courses from Wesleyan University, I just started my first one. After I finish that certificate the next one I have my eyes on is the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, by Google. I’d love to find a home-based job doing data analytics.

My brain is thirsty for some learning!
