Our Song Now
Nathan and I have had many songs over the years that were “our song” and this old chestnut is our song now. The words so perfectly express the way we feel to each other. I was listening to Linda Ronstadt songs the other day, because I read an article about her. What a lady. She can’t sing now, because she has Parkinson’s disease, but on the interview she said “I still sing in my head.” I think that’s beautiful. This duet with Aaron Neville came out in 1989. For Nathan and I, in this stage of our life, devoted to each other, still so in love, even more so, every day, married 30 years, is really says it all. Thank you, Linda and Aaron.
Look at this face
I know the years are showing
Look at this life
I still don't know where it's going
I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know
Look at these eyes
They've never seen what mattered
Look at these dreams
So beaten and so battered
I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know
So many questions
Still left unanswered
So much
I've never broken through
And when I feel you near me
Sometimes I see so clearly
The only truth I've ever known
Is me and you
Look at this man
So blessed with inspiration
Look at this soul
Still searching for salvation
I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know
I don't know much
But I know I love you
That may be
All I need to know
I don't know much
But I know I love you
That may be
All there is to know
