Mystery Geranium
I’ve always had a thing about geraniums. They are so pretty and cheerful. And also, as my mom pointed out to me today, they have a lovely herby smell. I usually get some for my porch around this time of the year. Today Nathan and I were at Ace Hardware (I love hardware stores: they have that great hardware store smell and sell all sorts of interesting items). Nathan needed a new rake. He asked me if I wanted a geranium, there were a few pots out front. The geraniums looked very healthy, and I looked them over. Usually, I always get red, but the very healthiest looking one had buds but no flowers and I thought Ha! A mystery geranium. I’ll keep everyone updated when it flowers. Should be any day now.
I love Spring in Wisconsin. Actually, there is no season I actively hate in Wisconsin. I used to dislike Winter, especially when I had to walk to work, but I loved it last year, able to be inside and all Hyggelicht, with hot chocolate and blankets and cuddly cats and books.
I am aching for a trip to the library. I know that you can order books to pick up from interlibrary loan, but what I am craving is the whole experience, walking down the aisles, picking up an interesting-looking book, reading the back, and placing it back. I am ACHING for it. I want to be able to pack my laptop in my backpack, walk up Tokay to the library, find a table and write, check a few books out, stop at EVP Coffee on the way home. Oh, bliss. I will be so happy when they decide to open them back up. I just went to the Madison Public Library website and it said May 24! Alright!
ok this song just came to me: hadn’t heard it for a while. enjoy!
