Under

I wonder if people would be as creeped out by skeletons

If they recalled that there are

Xylophone ribs under

every fulsome breast,

An articulated spine under

Every tender infant’s back;

The radius and ulna rotate

Every beauty queen’s royal wave,

Skulls grin whether we do or not,

While tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges fill

Both the ballet slipper and the steel-toed boot,

The sneaker and the stiletto.
